About Payoff Order
Payoff Order shows what to pay first after you enter the paycheck, the bills, and every balance.
The order is simple:
- Required payments and bills
- A $1,000 starter fund
- Any workplace match
- Extra payments on the expensive debt
The order puts required payments and a small cushion first so the rest of the plan stays stable. Extra money goes to the most expensive debt only after the starter fund and any workplace match are covered. Lower-rate loans stay on their minimum once the costlier balances are gone. Once that interest is the cheap kind, extra payments bring cards under 30% of their limit. That is the credit-score step.

Credit cards are watched for utilization. New spending stays off a card once it is 30% used.
The mortgage is entered as a debt, not as rent. Mortgage insurance counts until the balance is 80% of the original value.
